The Wisdom of Crowds and Google

I was confused which one is correct, jogjakarta or yogyakarta? And I decided to use yogyakarta. How did I decide it?
By googling. I searched for yogyakarta, and found about 5 millions results. And then I searched for jogjakarta, it found only 700 thousands results. So according to wisdom of crowds, I chose yogyakarta. But I don’t know if yogyakarta is really the right one, please correct me if I’m wrong.
Have you ever like in my position, confused with two choices and then you ask the crowds (google) ? Have you ever found that the crowds (based on google result) was wrong?
